RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

Paramount Global

I interned at Paramount Global under their consumer products department as a Retail Development intern for the Walmart team. As a retail development intern, I assist my team in getting licensed consumer products into Walmart online and in stores.

My day-to-day constantly changes and typically consisted of multiple tasks. A typical day for me was to attend a few meetings that contained updates about various products that were in the pitch phase, in production mode or already in Walmart stores. In every meeting, I attended I took notes and made recaps for either myself or my immediate team. I also attended panels that the company provided for interns and one-on-one meetings with various people at the company to learn about other areas of the business. In between meetings I worked on smaller tasks or larger projects. My smaller tasks were to update placement grids, make and send out Walmart-specific retail newsletters and do supplemental research if anyone on the team requested it.

The biggest lessons I've learned are to never stop asking questions and to try different things.
